Plans have been approved for Sandwell Aquatics Centre at Londonderry Playing Fields in Smethwick. The new aquatics centre will serve the local community and West Midlands region for decades to come and the state-of-the-art facility will include a 50m Olympic-sized competition swimming pool, a studio pool and a 25m diving pool.
Tom Devin is thrilled to bring the practice’s previous experience to this project. ‘Of the 10 Olympic-sized pools in the UK, Devin has been fortunate to have worked on more than half including the London Aquatic Centre for 2012 Olympics, so it is a privilege to be part of the team to deliver the newest Olympic-sized pool.” The pool affords full flexibility with a 25m movable floor and a transversible boom.
