It's heartening to see local authorities putting public health and fitness on their spending list in these uncertain times. The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead is investing £33M in a new leisure centre which will include a 10-lane, 25m swimming pool, a training pool and large splash area for children.
The design of the "futuristic centre" features an indoor street and winter garden running through the spine of the building. With a focus on sustainability, Braywick Leisure Centre is set to use 70 per cent less energy than the aging facilities it will replace.
The centre is scheduled to open in mid 2020, and Devin is pleased to be working with Wates who are appointed to undertake the building work, and Hoare Lea who are MEPH engineers on the scheme.
