Senior project engineer Steve Thomas will be swapping his site safety boots for sturdy walking boots as he joins a group of 60 friends embarking on a 26-mile sponsored ‘Walk for Waller’. The grueling trek will follow the path of Hadrian’s Wall from Chollerford in Northumberland and ends at Newcastle’s Quayside on Saturday 28th March. The walk is being organised by a group of friends who have raised around £45,000 to date for the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation with their regular '3 Days For Bobby' coast to coast cycling events (http://sirbobbyrobsonfoundation.org.uk/three-days-for-bobby/).
The ‘Walk for Waller’ event has been specifically organised to raise funds to help support little Grace Waller, the daughter of a member of the group who has not had the easiest start to life and will require special medical treatment and home adaptions to support her through childhood. We're keeping our fingers crossed for good weather for the hike and hoping that the group raise vital funds needed to help this little girl.
